DJI, the leader in creative camera technology, released another great addition to the Ronin series: the Ronin-S Compact, also known as Ronin-SC, is a one-hand gimbal for mirrorless cameras with motorized stabilization on three axes.
The Ronin-SC will be available as a single and as a combo version. To get to our online shop, click here.
“The Ronin-SC took the powerful technology from the Ronin-S and put it in a lighter and smaller form factor,” said Paul Pan, Senior Product Manager. “Now users can pair their mirrorless system with a stabilizer that is easier to transport, easier to set up, easier to use yet still equipped with high-performance features and technology.”
The Ronin-SC was specifically designed to make travelling more user-friendly – because with its weight of 1.1 kg it makes it much more easier (compared to the Ronin-S with 3.6 kg), and it is also easy to disassemble and fold up to get stowed away in backpacks as well as suitcases. The weight not only offers the advantage of transport, but also allows a longer use in video and photo shoots.
Ronin-SC supports a wide range of cameras and lenses up to a payload of 2.0 kg while still achieving a smooth, cinematic shot. Intuitive and user-friendly controls for shutter and focus are also available for most camera brands. It features a Roll Axis Arm, which keeps the camera’s built-in display free of obstruction. After DJI introduced this concept, it has been embraced throughout the handheld gimbal industry. The Axis locks on each arm allowing faster storage and individual axis balancing. The Quick-Release Plate includes a positioning block to memorize the used camera position for instant remounting. When powering off, the motors gradually power down the gimbal, ensuring reliability and quick setup. Another new feature is ActiveTrack 3.0, which lets the camera mounted on the gimbal follow a person or any object. This helps with image composition and can help filming moving objects. Over time, ActiveTrack 3.0 improves itself due to AI technology and can independently optimize the motive acquisition.
